The USSF Grade 8 Entry Level Course originally scheduled to start on Sunday February 22 has been postponed. Johns Hopkins APL has decided to close the facility due to the winter storm that hit the area overnight Saturday into Sunday.
A new date has been secured and the course will now run Saturday February and Sunday March 1. Students are automatically registered for the new date without having to do anything else. Any student who can not make Saturday February 28 can choose to switch courses voluntarily by logging into msr.gameofficials.net and making the change themselves. The second APL Course will be held on March 14-15.
CENTRAL MARYLAND / HOWARD COUNTY REFEREE RECERT CLINICS
There are three One (1) Day Recertification Clinics yet for 2015. The dates are January 10, 24, 31. All USSF Referees must earn a minimum of five (5) hours of In-Service Training annually to renew their license with USSF. This can be accomplished by attending several of the Monthly Clinics or one of the One Day Clinics. In Howard County these monthly clinics are held on the 3rd Thursday night of the month.
We will be conducting several Entry Level Courses in the Spring 2015.
These courses will follow the new format where students will be expected to complete Online Sessions and attend a Classroom & Field Session. After completing both the student will take an Online Exam to finish their requirements and get their referee badge. I have submitted the following course dates:
22 February & 1 March 2015 (08:30 to 5:30pm) Entry Level Course
14 March & 15 March 2015 (08:30am to 5:30pm) Entry Level Course
We will be teaching the Grade 9 Recreational Referee Course formally know as the NCSL & WAGS STAR Certification. This One Day Course is planned for Sunday March 22, 2015 from 8:30am to 5:30pm and requires the completion of an Online Session first.
22 March 2015 (08:30am to 5:30pm) Recreational Referee Course aka STAR Course.
Complete details will be available soon and the courses will be open for Registration. Go to “Spring 2015 Referee Courses” or “Grade 9 Recreational” for the STAR Certification for details on the new format.
